Hello,

We're constantly reviewing the categories of ads available to our AdSense publishers in order to provide access to a wide range of possible advertisers. Towards this goal, beginning on September 27, we're expanding the inventory of Google ads eligible to show on the AdSense network to include gambling-related ads from trusted advertisers.

Please note that the AdSense program policies will continue to prohibit the placement of ads on sites that accept money or allow users to place bets in exchange for an opportunity to earn cash or other prizes, directly from the site. In addition, these new ads will only be shown to users in regions where gambling is legal, which is determined by the location of the end-user. A full list of these locations can be found at the following link: Casinos and gambling - AdWords Help. Finally, publishers may not opt in to receiving ads from this new category if their sites are intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

If you're interested in allowing gambling ads to appear on your site and you feel it's a fit with your content and audience, you can opt into this category within your AdSense account. As a reminder, you have control over the categories of ads that can appear on your site. You can always check your category filtering options and make changes by following these instructions. Again, please keep in mind that by opting into the gambling category, you confirm that the site(s) on which you place your ad code aren't intended for individuals under 18 years old.

If you don't wish to receive gambling ads on your site, no action is required on your part. We recommend checking your category filter on a regular basis to see what new ad categories may become available.

We look forward to continuing to grow the ad inventory available to you to help you maximize your returns from AdSense.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Reactions: Incantation

I got this the other day.. despite all the recent SERP layout changes, I was still a little shocked to see this one. They really are doing whatever it takes to raise revenue now.

Does this mean my casino collectibles site that had Adsense disabled like two months ago is good to go again?

=/

This might be a great way for FullTiltPoker.com to monetize the site now.

+REP OP. This is big news. Lots of money on the table for this.

A can of worms has just popped for exact match Adsense gambling niches. The CPCs pretty much stand up there with insurance related terms as well...

Samples:
Online Casino £77.87 ($120)
Online Poker £47.81 ($73)
Online Bingo £37.82 ($58)

I'm still afraid to make casino sites though... Even if AdSense is cool with it now, google might hurt me some other way... Like making all my domains non-family safe or some shit...

Tempting tho... Those are some high $ keywords!

Try exploring

. Casino Parties - there are businesses that run casino parties (for tickets). They usually come to fundraisers, social orgs, etc.
. Gambling Tips - i.e. how to play...how to win.....
. Legal Casino - i.e review actual brick n' mortar, legal US casinos - that could also include race tracks I guess

I am not responsible for anybody's adsense account, but this has always seemed ok.

i.e. city data forum about gambling addiction:

Closest gambling to Houston or Dallas? (Galveston, Texas City: credit, casinos, live) - City-Data Forum

I see some ads for legal casinos.

Honestly, has anybody ever just emailed adsense support and asked?

omg.. new opportunity!

I didn't receive this.

Are they only sending this out to select publishers (publishers from the allowed country list)?

Australia
Austria
Belgium
France
Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales)
Hungary
India
Italy
Mexico
Republic of Ireland
Russia
South Africa
Canada, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Czech Republic, and Israel

Does this apply to all publishers around the world?
