I currently have a $10k budget to promote an online shoe company. I need to really expand the funds to drive traffic to the site. I was wondering what’s the best method to get the most out of my cash? I know that it’s a very small budget but do you think PPC or placing a campaign on CJ is the best way to go? I was also thinking about getting the offer on CPM sites (network), doing link exchange, organic listing and directory listing.

The site is brand new and there's no traffic to it.

Please help!

The problem is that niche is quite competitive and it will be very hard with just 10K to compete with the bigger more established brands and sellers.

Does yoru shoe store cater to a specific demographic or is it very broad?

The site will compare shoes from various suppliers. We're focussed on vertical search aspect. Basically, users can go to the site and search for specific shoes. I'm thinking about catering it specifically to women. Doing local search for women who are interested in buying shoes online.

Just zero in on a keyword and optimize your site to rank for that keyword.
10k is enough to hit position one for a medium competition keyword.

Why don't you start up an affiliate program on CJ or ShareASale and allow your affiliates to promote your products and then give them a commission for doing this. This is what alot of other shopping type sites do.

I'll SQUIRT it for 10k... ;)

j/k 9k...

lol. Ironicly, from what has been seen, as long as his on-site SEO is good, that would probably be the best way to spend it.

Here is an idea. Why not set up 4 or 5 smaller sites like your main one. Do basic on-site SEO to them all and use some squirt submits and general link building on related sites for each of them. (Should cost around $2k total for all the sites assuming you outsource some of the design and installation etc).

You then Squirt the main site and link build but make sure you have a link to the main site on your other sites and spend some money on PPC for the main site. Something like "Part of the shoes123.com company" or something like that.

This way you provide more related linkbacks to your main site, plus, instead of having 1 site to sell from, you have 6.

However I have no experience and am probably talking crap out my arse so ignore everything I have just said.
