I just had quite a nightware with our server.
Server goes down. Then the guy who is managing (or who is the most familiar) our server is not in yet. We have to wait until he hauls his ass to work so that he can fix it. The phone is ringing off the hook with clients who are asking WTF.
Nuf said, I am looking for a company that not only offers dedicated servers, but also has a good server management service too. Full service, if you can call it that.
Basically, there should be somebody competent available at any time that can spring into action at a moment's notice to solve any crisis situation. This people should also know how to build scalable high availability solutions. Somebody pro-active who take action or suggest action to take to make the systems better, more secure as we don't have the means to afford a dedicated guru in-house.
In short, I need high availability (no single point of failure) and have people on site do all the management for us.
I've been looking at forums and companies and it's not always clear if by managed they mean just fixing minor problems or setting it up, or a full service management with people handing day to day maintenance.
I hope some of you can point us in the right direction to find something suitable.
Thanks!
HH
