Hello,

I hire people on Odesk and like to check if the content/articles are unique form them.

Is any website or service out there to check this?

You can check on copyscape.com which is preferred by all kind of Writing services like SEO, web content, Press Release, article, product review, etc. This means any contents to check from online, you can use. You also can use TurnItIN.com but its costly sometime..
 
A low budget (free) option is to simple use Google. Take 2 or 3 unique sounding sentences and one at a time search for them in Google. Make sure to surround the phrase with the double quote ("blah blah"). This will search for that exact phrase. If you find a match -take a look and see if it is the same content. Typically, if you choose a 6 or 7 word sentence and use the double quotes, any matches you find will likely be sources for the article or outright copies.
 
OMG, you've been paying people to do this?!?!

It's only $0.05/article checked at copyscape. And you can do 5 a day for free last time I checked. *HINT* If you don't want to spend the 5 sends switch ur ip and host articles on a different domain... You might just wanna pay the $0.05 though, kinda tedious work around.
 
One of the options (and the reliable one) is to use copyscape. One other options is to copy and paste the content paragraph by paragraph in Google's search bar, you might see the copied results.
