I'm trying to dig up newer jazz pianists who specialize in fast-tempo songs. I know a lot of you have your fingers on the pulse of up-and-coming artists, and am hoping you can provide recommendations.

Here are a few examples of the type of jazz piano I'm looking for:

And from 7:45 to 9:15, courtesy of Rudess of Dream Theater (the entire album is great, by the way):

I'm a fan of the greats, like Tatum, Brubeck, and Thelonius Monk. But I'm on the hunt for newer blood at the keys.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Brad Mehldau. Also, if you're not familiar with Chick Corea check him out. - Particularly search youtube for Chick Corea + Bela Fleck. They're both extraordinary musicians. Bela Fleck plays the banjo like you wouldn't believe, and they compose some wonderful jazzy tunes together.

came here to say Brad Mehldau.

Jason Moran is pretty fucking good too. real modern

+1 for Mehldau, not sure if he's quite the tempo you're looking for though.

and you probably aren't looking for vocalists but Diana Krall displays her piano chops particularly well in this performance.
