Need help editing .htaccess file

Just edited an .htaccess file which was a complete fail. ended up giving me a 404 page error on the home page. I'm not sure what I did to brake the site but it's giving me a long URL that keeps repeating it self.

Example:

-------------------------http://mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html/htp:/www.mysite.com/home1/royalsma/public_html


Looking at the URL it looks like I might have not added the seconded "t" when writing the code. I've tried deleting the code plus file but still no luck.
 


Sometimes it gets cached so you will not see the changes immediately.

And why dont you post the htaccess here with the domain changed?

Maybe someone can help...
 
Thanks Drake, it just took some time to change properly. It's working fine now.
 
.htaccess file is in root folder if you want to open it you have to know the username and password and full access on server.
