Hey everyone,

I'd like to determine whether there is a need or a market for a service / offering we would like to provide to the WF community.

I have seen other vendors offering low cost labor at ridiculously low rates and there was definitely interest, but the vendors seem to have died/disappeared and it seems there has been a lot of dissatisfaction expressed in the forum comments regarding the services.
This has probably provided a sour taste in the mouth for those members that have tried the service, and so we would just like to suss out whether there may still be interest for an enhanced service, albeit priced at a more respectable living wage (i.e. respectable minimum wage for us - cheaper labor for you)

The envisaged enhanced service offering details are as below.
Note (no disrespect to the Indian or Filipino communities, but please note that our service will be provided by genuine native English speakers, based in South Africa, that are currently involved (in training) in internet marketing (no body shopping here)
They will/should all know certain aspects of SEO, so this is not your usual crappy virtual assistant offering as previously offered - this will be a genuine service - and obviously priced accordingly)

What we do:

Our firm currently provides an SEO/SEM training/diploma course with the attendees required to attend 2 hour classes per day (Mon-Fri) per tri-semester. Coursework includes case studies, hands-on exercises and theoretical study. Although we do focus on SEO/SEM, attendees are immersed in all aspects of internet marketing (IM) and ultimately are examined according to their proficiency in the IM discipline.

What we expect to provide:

We have been toying with the idea of combining our coursework with a form of internship, but our local market is not large enough, and local firms have not really expressed huge interest in providing placements or work for these individuals. Currently we use them on an adhoc basis as and when required, but we would like to formalise this a tad further.

I would like to therefore determine if we could structure something with the market and some WF members to use these guys/gals services, thus giving them added exposure to the SEO discipline, whilst gaining experience,
and of course providing them with some form of monetary reward , and a relatively cheap service for yourselves.

Services they will most likely provide:
* Linkbuilding (in all its forms)
* Social media marketing
* Website analysis
* Traffic generation tactics
* Virtual internet assistance (anything IM related)

Coupled with some form of design (logo/website) offering as well
We dont want them to do adult type sites, and no illegal stuff either...

Please PM me if you would be interested, what the expected usage would be (we would prefer monthly type contracts rather than per-hour but obviously would need to structure it around what the market would like), would you need them over the weekends etc.
Please also indicate what wage you would be prepared to pay, and what type of tasks you would expect of them. We can then see if we can match up the requirements with the market.
Remember, these guys are fluent in English (not your average burger-flipper either), can understand terms such as anchor text, dofollow, keyword analysis etc. so be reasonable here. Also understand that they would be interning, so packages are negotiable, but we would like to see what the market is willing to provide, and therefore how many placements we could also offer to our students.

Basically, we would prefer them to base a case study around your site(s), i.e. before SEO tasks, and after the relevant SEO work is done. This is also
a requirement in terms of the coursework and is presented to the department for review. Normally the student uses their own site for this purpose, but real life case studies are always preferred.

I was thinking on the lines of a half day package (3 hours per day - so we can cater for more clients and you dont have to take an intern for the full day) and a full day package (6 hours). Normal business day is 8 hours, 2 hours taken by study/coursework.

After the course, the attendees can then go freelance or pursue their own business or own careers, and you can negotiate with them if you would like to use their skills on a more permanent basis or not.

PM me with ideas, interest, or whatever

Thanks

PM me if you do decide to launch this service. I have monkeys whom I need to give some SEO/SEM training to. It would be great to have it done by professionals.

DumDum - the training cant really be given via correspondence (well not the complete course anyways) - the service they're offering is similar to yours - an outsourced model where the trainees provide SEO services to the WickedFire community after their studies - for some extra cash. They are students after all...
We use them in our own firm at times as well when we have a huge workload.. but we can't employ them all - just not enough work at the moment
