Hi,

Due to a company not liking what I was writing about them on my web page (basically saying company X is better this particular company), nothing illegal at all whatsoever, this company went and whined to my domain registrar.

This domain registrar is in the USA, and so is the company. The domain registrar blocked my access to my domains (until I resolved it).

Basically I need a Domain Registrar that will laugh at any petty attempt from a company to kill off/ban/scare customers and/or their domains.

Too many companies fold over in the USA, including $5 dollar web hosts, and I don't want to deal with it.

I am guessing a good solution is to go with a European/China based registrar?

If so, please feel free to share some good ones.

Don't want anything like GoDaddy and the rest - I want ones that won't fall over and die the second they receive anything and wont bug me about any complaints either as a bonus.

And would preferably would like a registrar that doesn't care fake whois info. If I had to pay for whois protection for all my domains I'd go broke.

And Yes I am aware of WhoIS protection for free on some registrars... but believe it or not, the domain registrar I was with just flicked off whois protection for me for all my domains with them the second they received a complaint!

I can't tell exactly if it was because of that, but whois protection was certainly working say 2 weeks ago.

Look forward to your out of the US, non-weakling domain registrar suggestions. Also feel free to post any web hosts that don't buckle over instantly too! Or preferably can't speak english too well :D

Thanks for the help!

P.S In case anyone wants to welcome me to WF by calling me a cocksucker newbie, here's a fuck you in advance :D

I use namecheap.com, never had any problems. Never had any complaints either. Don't know where they are located.

These guys aren't phish/spam friendly or anything, but gandi.net won't take it up the ass.

What registrar gave you problems? It sounds like GoDaddy.

I think Moniker is pretty solid, even though they are based in the US.

Another vote for Moniker. People maintain some of their most high profile portfolios and they will fight for you! =)

and if you are REALLY wanting a hardcore company you may want to check out http://www.estdomains.com
I have yet to use these guys (yet) but from my research they just plain don't care at ALL, appears that they have a lot of virus/spyware type domains that have the anti spam crowd up in arms because they won't disable them :D
