I am planning to buy few high PR domains.

While i was searching i saw one domain with Page Rank 10
Price is $650
DA is 29
Listed in Dmoz.org
Domain first registered 2003

I am skeptical to buy this domain as i have high doubt whether it's worth the price or not.

I am new to domain buying so i want to know what are the faq's to consider before buying domain?

I am new to domain buying so i am asking question.
If you know something help me otherwise leave my thread.

Anyway i am not planning to buy this domain.
Domain name - thecandle.org

Can you check it and let me know if it's really worth buying it or is it a fake domain

I checked page rank using Check Page Rank! and it's showing valid.
I checked dmoz.org and domain is listed there.

Can anyone let me know what steps i need to take care when buying page rank domains?

Step 1: Turn off your computer.

The end.

If you can't answer why you post messages in this thread.

Posting those type of messages doesn't help me or anyone.

If you know anything about buying domains then let me know what steps i need to take care to buy genuine Page Rank Domains

You need to do several checks for checking a high pr domain.

Check 1-
info:site_url_here
check that in google. If result is same url as searched then move to check 2.
If not, domain is having a fake pr.

Check 2-
Search "Seo spyglass" in google. Download it.
Now everytime when you see a high pr domain, scan its backlinks thru spayglass.
If it is having backlinks from many urls those are having a PR then it should be fine.
For eg if its a PR4 domain then it should have atleast 1 backlink from a PR5 domain. (even if it has several links from pr3 posts then it could be good. Tool is not perfect and does not display all the links).

if u check ur domain (PR10) thru this then you will get to know that its a fake pr10.

Check 3-
Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine
go there. put your domain there and check.... Does site say that your domain had been redirected to any other domain? If so then its a fake pr domain. Actualy many times people blast lots of links from ALN/FBL for a fake pr domain and there seo spyglass can be failed.

Suggestion to you - Buy domains from domain sellers.
Searching hi pr domains takes a fuck load of time. but if you really want to do this then you should signup on snapnames.com first.

From next time, ask such questions in newbie section. People will help you there.

Go register yourself an account at registercompass.org

They have features checking if the domain's pr is real or not. ( and many other features as well, checking backlinks... checking the age etc etc)

Btw, prices is a subjective matter by you and the seller, if you think your investment will be rewarding then pay the price you think you will be able to make back from. Through experience you'll be able to draw a market price and initially have more points to negotiate with if you're dealing with another seller instead of grabbing drop domains.

1. Look for backlink profile, it have to match to PR and authority of the domain. (So if you have only few pr0-2 backlinks and pr of you domain is 5 it look not right)
2. Check Authority and Trust, on Opensiteexplorer and Magesticseo
3. If its in DMOZ it is a little plus
4. if its .info instead of .org or .com it is little minus, but not really if backlinks is ok.
5. Check the history in web.archive. (check how old is the site) most important to see if it wasn't dropped for the whole period of time. You can see it by gaps in the history. IF you have 10 years of history and few years is missing it is probably is a time it was dropped or dead. You still can consider buying it if it have good and relevant backlinks.
6. See where backlinks coming from. If it comes mostly from directories (no matter what PR) it is crap. If baclinks coming from High PR homepages it is good but you can easily loose those links soon because usually webmasters check for their homepages, (there wan't be the issue if you fully restore the previous site fast). The best way if you have backlink profile from inner pages with high PR from the sites with high PR better listed in DMOZ. .org, .edu. .gov is preferred. (.com not as good as many may think, 40-30% of .com owned buy spammers or shitty blogs and sites), never the less .org is usually trusted sites owned by real organisations and very rare spammy.
7. Look at the previous language that site was build on. If it was other than English I wouldn't advice to go with it, but if it have all other pluses why not. You can change it to English if it was on Latin language, but I wouldn't do it if it was on Asian or any other language that use different symbols.
8. Also newer change the niche too much. I mean if it was Tech site you can build some site about robots or computers, but if it was child site please don't build casino on it. You will lose PR and Trust momentary.
Well I can keep on and on but I need to keep something to myself )). Good luck.

P.S. BTW that domain PR10 doesn't appear to be fake. The backlinks is crap though. This is good example what you don't need to buy.
