I noticed that a lot of sites that sell myspace apps are down today. Is myspace starting to go after them?

Maybe now these myspace spammer programmers will learn that when you come across something good, you use it for yourself, you don't sell it. Or maybe lease it out or let big guys use it and work out a revshare agreement or partnership. Keeping it quiet is the best advice for these people. But.. they'll never learn, so congrats to them on their first or last C&D from Myspace. I'm glad Myspace is finally cracking down on them too. Shows that they are getting somewhat serious about this spam issue. They'll never be able to block everything, but at least they can take out the ones that are causing the bulk of the problems.

If the dipshits would captcha protect bulletins it would eliminate 80%+ of the crap on there.

Their systems are f'ed. When 100K friend requests and 64 simultaneous connections can originate from the same IP day after day, something is wrong with their architecture.

Got this from another forum.

"Just letting you guys know that Space promoter is completely down. The program still works but Joseph is facing all kinds of lawsuits...if you want to look on his blogger generator forum...you will see what he is talking about.

Basically, I can't update or sell the program because MySpace is trying to sue me.

They want to settle out of court with the following demands:

- I give them spacepromoter.com
- I can't update or support the program.
- I can't ever talk about MySpace marketing or anything against their TOS again.
- They wanted 100% of the profits that I made but I've gotten them down to 50%.
- I can't ever use MySpace or another Fox News website again.
- They want my customer list.

I am planning on sending out an email tomorrow about it.

Joe"

Wrote a whole article about the space promotor guy -

blog

I just read this on one of the bot sites forums:

MySpace is closing ALL robot providers. give it less then 14 days and all bot sites will taken offline. Our forums will remain up and as you can see, your programs still work.

We can't discuss much, as it will put us in jeopardy. Any minor questions please ask through chat or through PM.

I couldn't imagine it would be worth the competition and lawsuits to sell software like this versus using it for yourself

Word on the street is that their were no C&D's even. Just emails sent to all the bot companies which may or may not of even been from fox news or mySpace in the first place.

just rumours though. again i wouldn't believe any of the hype. could well be just one bot trying to slow down all of their competition.
