This webhost where I have 9 domains/websites hosted suddenly redirected all my websites to a Landing Page for no reason.

The hosting is paid for and without warning ehost.net did this without notifying me first. So I had these websites populated and was bringing in traffic and suddenly he erases them out... I cannot even access cPanel anymore.

The ridiculous thing is I emailed him on what the heck he was doing and he states that he is allowed to do this (without notifying me first) redirecting websites to a landing page. And he refuses to budge or acknowledge that he is doing anything wrong, and he is smug about it.
Here is one of the websites rate travel last minute deal at travel-rates.com

The website was a travel portal with 300 pages of articles. This is just one of the websites. There are 8 more.

What can I do. I know he is breaking the law, but he doesn't think so. His domain ehost.net is registered with GoDaddy. I can contact them.. as I have all PayPal subscription payments and screenshots of the proper DNS designations etc. pointing to his server... so at least I can get his domain locked. He should pay for this. What actions should I take?

I'm bumping this because it blew my mind. You gotta get this fucker. Take him down using any method at your disposal. (Start with legal methods --> less legal methods)

Get some new hosting quick and change those nameservers..

and ruin this guy if you can, what a piece of shit. Find every little bit of info about him that you can, and post it online.

oh shit I host with ehost.net but nothings happened to my sites, but if something does, this guy should pay

you guys should really get hosting from more trustworthy providers... also, how do you know you weren't hacked?

BUT ehost.net costs $10 a year for hosting 3 DOMAINS, trustworthy costs $$$ I'd rather keep

If I could get a dozen tube socks for a BUCK.99 I would.

You should post some of your e-mail conversations. My first impression was that there might have been a billing mistake and they suspended the account. But from what you claim he is saying to you, it sounds like something more devious is going on.

The first step, regardless of what is truely going on, is to pull your domains from his nameservers. If it doesn't seem like he's going to all of a sudden give you access again - you just have to move on for now. You don't want your sites to just be down. Get your sites back online on another host, then figure out what to do to this guy.

You don't want your sites to be down while you are figuring this out, and you don't want him to profit from your traffic by leaving them pointed to his nameservers. After you move out, you need to focus on getting a refund for the period of time that is left on your contract.

I'm offering 60-Day free web hosting trials for WickedFire members only right now. See the signature and PM me if you're interested.

Here is my email correspondence with him in chronological order...

In Bold are his replies. The funny thing is as someone said. he flogs 3 domains for $11.95 on ebay. Been with them for several years because of the affordability... and had no major problems other that the server being down... the normal stuff. Then this week he redirected all my accounts I had with him 9 domains and then he bills me on Friday for the scheduled Paypal payment...

First I asked for a refund

Hello,

We're sorry to here that you would not like to continue your service with us. It is the clients full responsibility to cancel the subscription before renewal is due if they don't intend on renewing. We have no control over it as the subscription is active by "you" yourself. We also do not offer any refunds as we were not at fault. We're more than happy to host new domains for you until your year has expired.

Please cancel the subscription and you will not be billed next year.

Regards,
eHost.net Support Team
Then this arrogant prick tells me to use the following DNS

The $12 is not that big of a deal to you. You can make it back in 5 minutes. I made a mistake of not cancelling because I could not find the subscription number. Please make an exception and refund the measly $11.95 because it will not mean a damn to you but I have to economize my paypal funds. And all 3 accounts... 9 domains I have with ehost has the same redirect. You did this without telling me. There are laws broken here. i will go away once you refund the $11.95.
If your ego says no... then I will take action.
Please refund $11.95 to ...

I will collect all the paypal subscription payments to you that I paid along with the date of transaction for the domains on your servers

I will take a snapshot of all the domain DNS on my godaddy account for proof that the DNS address was directed to your servers.

I will take a snapshot of all the domains proving that you have redirected all my domains to a landing page without you notifying me which is illegal and not taken lightly ... you know the law.
I cannot even get into my cPanel accounts.
I will look into all the internet f r a u d alert services along with notifying ebay as well as paypal.

This can be resolved when you refund my $11.95
Thankyou and good luck

His reply... Again, you need to state the issue so we can help you our refund policy is clear an dyou abide to our policy before purchasing.

You and your ego would harm yourself and your company this much for a lousy $11.95
My friend.. get your priorities straight.

For starters you redirected all 9 of my domains to a landing page without notifying me. These are all domains paid for on your servers for 1 year.
I am losing traffic and customers.
What part of this don't you understand?

HI,

His reply...The redirects ios not our fault. We need to knwo which domains you're having trouble with so we can help you. If you're going to keep on playing the blame game we can't do anything except waste more time.

I will not give you the domain names.
Grow up.
You do not obviously know the severity of the laws you are breaking. You do not redirect domains without notification first.
It is your fault, it is your responsibility to notify me before they are changed and you know it.
I will give you 2 hours to return the $11.95 via Paypal
and you will get off cheap.
Otherwise
I will contact Paypal with proof ... the snapshots of all nine domains that were redirected without you contacting me, as well as the Paypal subscriptions and the snap shots from GoDaddy.
This can all be resolved by a $11.95 refund.
Your choice.

His reply... Hi,

If you decide that you need help then we can provide support for your domains. Thanks

So thats it.. just the smug arrogance of this little shit.
I'm contacting GoDaddy to get his domain frozen and will contact ebay and Paypal as well.

I was planning to let him off easy by just settling for a refund... but you know his response.

Buyer Beware

Why don't you just give the ehost.net guy the name of your domains that were affected, or am I just being naive?

Here's an idea, why not call him? He was stupid enough to leave his whois info public:

eHost L.L.C., eHost L.L.C. Whois Privacy and Spam Prevention by DomainTools.com
eHost L.L.C.
P.O. Box 336
Medina, Washington 98039
United States

I believe the area code for Medina is 425

So you registered your domains with this host... so the host owns these domains? Because they are "redirected", as you say, at DNS level.
If not, the host is not responsible for this.

I wouldn't waste too much of your time. Pack your things and get a decent web host. There are too many losers doing web hosting to worry about em.
