My rankings arent improving

Is there a tool i can use to check if my site is being punished by google , because directory submissions have been made a couple months ago but still i dont see any changes on my placement.

are those directory listings resulting in do follow links showing up in your webmaster central? If not, they might be worthless (may or may not be indexed, may or may not be passing link juice). How many are from pages with PR?

First of all, before adding keyword rich anchor text for your website on the forum signature, look to see that it is followed. If it is nofollowed, which it is in this forum, your signature links is going to help your rankings. I'm trying to save you time just in case you want to rack up posts for this reason.

Hey Kingy,

I don't know of a tool to check if your site has incurred some sort of "Google Penalty" but (like we all tend to do) you're probably over complicating things here. It is much more likely that:

a) The directory submissions were of no to little SEO value
b) Your competition has done more than directory submissions in the last couple of months

My suggestion would be to forget about your directory submissions and keep building links. If you want to outsource again there are some good providers of social bookmarking in the Buy/Sell/Trade section here.

will check that stuff out. I have done one social bookmarking thing from red virus which was very good, i guess that covers most of the social book marking sites, will i get much benefit to do the same one again ? once again sorry for newbie questions or if i have made some nerds cry cos im posting in the wrong section like a naughty boy x
