I'm totally new to this forum but from what I've seen you're the most knowledgeable people around.

So I figured, what's better place to write a journal and get advice than on wickedfire.

Today is day 1 and this is my current situation:

After joining a4d I instantly understood that CPA is the way to go.

And because I know that no matter how many networks I join, it's ultimately up to me to get something to work I've decided to get to $1k per day through a4d.

In the past 30 days I've made $1500 and wasted $1300 for PPC. So $200 of profit in whole month... Which sucks obviously.

There's ZERO possibility in my mind I won't get to $1000 per day but I'm hoping you guys will help me speed up the process.

I'll write reports at least once per week every single week until I am earning 1k per day. So let's start...

That doesn't suck at all. You made a profit in your (I presume) first month.

Were you tracking at all? See which keywords converted etc? Is the campaign still live? Seems as if you're already onto a winner.

I'm totally new to CPA... But not to IM.. However the most I made in given month was $1000 so nothing spectacular there.

The problem right now with this campaign is that I've created close to 100 adgroups targeting about 30 offers... Which basically means that I have hundreds and hundreds of keywords which get low amount of impressions so I can't really say which keywords are better than others yet.

I'm also direct linking everything which makes it extremely tough to scale since I'd need to build another 100 adgroups like these to make another $200 of profit per month.

This is why I've created two landing pages, one for resveratrol and one for bizopps. Having these two will allow me to send a bit less targeted traffic and I won't have such problems with scaling.

Also, if the offer goes down I'll simply change the links on the landing page, whereas now that several offers went down I'd need to edit like 40 adgroups in prosper to make new redirects.

So yeah... that's that.

$200 profit for the month is so not suckage.

That's $44\day spend on adwords.. Consider if you could scale that to $444/day and bank $2K/month... Get where I'm going?

Good job!

Yeah man, I totally agree, but right now, with direct linking it's a pain in the ass to manage the campaigns and I've actually paused the lower converting ones just to have more money to spend on my landing page promotions.

DAY 2 UPDATE:

So I've been thinking and thinking how to pull traffic without needing to either:
- bid on competitive kws like "make money online"
- make thousands of long tails noone thought of which get about 2 impressions per day

After thinking hard I've came up with a way to utilize wikipedia data and add my keywords in it and bid on it.

I've started getting instant traffic and got 60.000 impressions (just search, I don't do content with this one) from yesterday to today at CTR 0.11% hehe. The best thing is, almost noone is bidding on these terms and if I just pull the CTR to 1% or 2% I'll be getting almost 1000 clicks per day.

The landing page I created is getting 50%- 70% CTR depending on keywords... And after spending $23 on these new keywords I already got 2 sales at $37 with Google Riches.

My goal for today is to write about 10 new ads to get the CTR up and to find even more keywords and pull 100.000 impressions per day.

very interesting, care to share the "I came up with a method to use"

Sure... The whole point of this technique is to think a bit differently than everyone else. Wikipedia is huge right? So I thought how could I make use of it and I started searching for LISTS of things related to my niche...

For example if you want to sell dinosaur toys most people will bid on "dinosaur toys" and keywords like that. But with wikipedia, you can search for a list of ALL dinosaurs that ever existed and add your keyword to each of them...

"tyrannosaurus rex toy" for example.. The idea is that people who are into this stuff know what they want - very specifically. I remember that as a kid I knew the exact name of a dinosaur I wanted...

If you just think a bit and do a search related to your niche I'm sure you'll come up with stuff to bid on, that basically noone is bidding on yet.

Why not concetrate on content? I bet it will yield better returns + try organic listings (for long term offers).

From what I've seen up to now with YSM content is that as the time goes on I get less and less impressions and it's very hard to get good CTR. Obviously, YSM puts A LOT more emphasis on CTR than google, but I don't really know if putting like 10 kws in one group will help, since on content single keyword doesn't mean nearly as much as on search - in sense of relevancy (that's my opinion of course).

Dunno... if you have any thoughts on YSM content please share.

DAY 3 UPDATE:

No sales from this new LP campaign today.. I wasted about $30 for clicks today but I know that this is nothing. Just statistically speaking, it's very probable I'm not getting sales because of low amount of traffic and not because of low conversions.

I'll have to keep running it for a few more days... and try to pull more traffic so that I'll be able to test a few different LPs.

Also, I've been making more and more ads and it seems to be extremely tough to get CTR to even 0.5%. Up to now I've managed to get from 0.11% to 0.35%

I'll need to work quite a bit on this to get it to 1%.

I'll also build another 10 groups for this campaign today and use only the best ad in all of them. This should get me another 100 clicks I think.

Funny thing is, as I started to see potential in this campaign and in linking to a LP I've lost all interest for my direct linking campaigns. If I get conversions from old campaigns I really don't care about them anymore since I understand that it's too hard to scale them.

If you are using google, fuck the biz op offers of now, and maybe even any re-bill offers.

Yeh, I've actually been banned about a week ago, so I'm promoting it on YSM now. I'll try to find some less "shady" offers to promote if they'll convert reasonably well for me.

DAY 6 UPDATE

SO I've sent another 700 clicks to the bizopp LP and I got zero conversions. I find that extremely weird especially because I got 2 right after I set the campaign.

This means I'll have to come up with a new LP and hope it'll get better conversions.

I've also lowered max CPC to $0.2 (from $0.4) and I'm still getting a reasonable amount of clicks so there's no problem with shortage of traffic. I also have about 20k keywords waiting to be put in adgroups, so once I have a LP that converts I'll organize that into adgroups and use the best ads I've split tested up to that point.

Because I really want to make this work I've stopped all my other campaigns because they were just sucking my money without any serious return and I'm running just this one now.

PS: the weirdest thing with my current LP is that I was running a very targeted campaign that got about 2% conversions with direct linking but after I started using LP and even though it got 70% CTR on targeted keywords and after 200 click throughs it didn't get a single conversion.

Same shit happened to me a while back, I was getting 80-85% clicking through to my first offer (review lander) but conversions were between shit and non-existant. Never figured it out, and I'm looking forward to seeing if you find out what's going on.

I can't really see why you are worried.

All that you need to is find other ways to drive targeted traffic to your offers.

Yeh man, I'll create a new landing page tomorrow or in 2-3 days.. After that I think I'll just keep testing different landing pages until something will convert.

Yeh, agreed... Easier said than done though :)

try submitting artcles to directories and also submit urls to free social sites

Thanks bro but I'm doing PPC here.

DAY 8 UPDATE

So as I've been working on one of my sites I've realized I can't find a certain solution I needed. The funny thing is, I was almost 100% certain something like this already exists in simple to understand form. But everything I found was extremely complex to integrate and would take me days to learn.

This made me hire a freelancer to code the entire system in php for me and I told him to make it as simple as possible.

The thing was so awesome I decided I'll set up a landing page for it and sell it. It took me about 2 hours to write the sales letter, I needed to write documentation (how to install etc) and there were a few things I needed to change in the code to make it even more idiot proof.

Now I'm almost finished, I just need to make screenshots of how the thing looks in action and put em on my site (proof element) and I'll be able to start running PPC.

The price will probably be $17 but I'll test different price points to see where do I get the best ROI.

There's huge potential in this niche and my solution definitely has STRONG unique sales proposition and differentiates from anything that's currently on the market.

We'll see how it does once I send traffic to it.

I've always wondered, is it a better idea to start a campaign with just a handful of keywords, wait for enough traffic to get some testing results and then scale it up with more keywords - or is it better to just throw in all the keywords one can find in the very beginning?

BTW, I'm fairly sure that frnacozak guy is a spammer and his 30th post is gonna be some bullshit link. But we'll see.

Right now I'm using only about 10% of keywords I can use with this source of traffic. This means I'm getting about 50-100 visitors per day. This is enough to test a new LP every few days. It's enough for me. However if I was for example getting only 10 visitors per day I'd probably put all the kws in.. So I guess it depends on the amount of traffic and how targeted it is.

DAY 12 UPDATE

Ok so I finished copy for my new LP for bizopps vertical. I'll just need to find working geolocation script now and put some cool graphics on.

It'll be completely finished by tomorrow and I'll start throwing traffic at it instantly.

What I did differently this time:
I put in even bigger amount of hype but I also made it A LOT more personal. With the last LP, it's obvious it's one big freakin ad. But with this one people can kinda relate because these are experiences of a person that's just kinda bragging about his success.

Last website was also completely without graphics but I'll follow the established layout now... But still - I like to do these things my own way, so I tried to be creative and I'm using a bit different approach than a regular flog out there. I guess there's no harm in experimenting with new things.
