I didn't feel like working yesterday or today so I wrote a song instead. I have never written lyrics before and I'm pretty satisfied with what I wrote. I usually just have weird music without vocals, which is boring for most people.

Tell me what you think. If you're not into it that's fine with me. You'll probably like it if you like:

Madlib/Quasimoto, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Caural, etc.....

BTW, yea i make all the music in it, no sampling.

very cool song, reminds me back in the day when i used to listen to pm dawn!

Nice man! Those live drums then? Like it mate. I can't play and it's hard to tie down a drummer and kit so have to use sampled beats or hits unfortunately.

Good job. Love the fx on the vox..

What software are you using? (Or are you all hardware?)

Hey, thanks! None of the stuff is live, though I do play drums/guitar/bass/keys. I use Cakewalk project5 with a Kontakt 3 instrument library and recorded all of the song using my USB midi controller keyboard.

For putting it all together I used Adobe Audition, and for the vocals, I recorded them, reversed, add a hall reverb, un-reversed, then put a watery chorus over them. Of course I recorded all the harmony parts of the vocals before doing that though.

Do yourself a favor and get Kontak3. It's only 450 or something and it's 33gb of instruments. Some of my favorites are the world instruments.. like the Kora from Africa.... You can even change the tuning of different strings so it sounds out of tune and natural.

good day, sir!

Had a play with an older version of kontact years ago, was very impressed from what I recall - I'll check it out although I'm more of a synth person though really (Novation V-station is great!).

You got any more stuff online?
