Interesting if you read the article. The one point I like is that many people of all faiths/creeds etc have gone through it. These two women refused, got their bags and went back home. My only rhetorical question is, do they ever plan on leaving the UK?

I wouldn't go through one of those either- did they also refuse the pat down which I'd happily go through?

(my concern w/ the scanners is solely health risks, don't care about anyone seeing me naked, <though I'd hold out a little tip jar>)

If i were a Muslim woman i also return home and never pass through that scanner. It's rubbish in my opinion.

Honestly as an atheist woman (point is religion doesn't really matter here) I'm uncomfortable with it as well. Every since I started IM (or maybe just every since I joined wickedfire ) my paranoia about the shit that winds up on the internet has grown exponentially.

Since the technology for non-realistic representation (think Keith Haring stickfigures) is easily available for these scanners, none of this crap needs to happen - not the invasive visual rape aspect, not the 'my religion forbids it' crap.
