i have multiple situations on several mp3's that ive bought and especially videos i've converted to audio that i'd like to break up into parts...any ideas so i can add track lines (listen to X & stop without having to scroll back thru it all). 1.5 hour chunks suck.

thanks.

Editing actual mp3's can be tricky as it's already compressed and exporting again might lose you a lot of quality.

If you can - convert it to a .wav (44.1 stereo 16bit - ideally you would have recorded it as .wav as your original source) first, then you can edit it in any .wav editor as above re audacity - another free one is Wavosaur free audio editor with VST and ASIO support - this enables you to simply grab chunks or set markers and export in partitions as mp3 or any filetype like you're trying to do..

Conversion tool I use is Audio Sound File Converter Software. Convert wav mp3 dvd midi flac dvf wma etc. great for all kinds of conversions/encoder options.
