Woah there for a moment...
I just got off the Live Help thingy with Mosso.
The techie explained that their WIN cluster took a big hit and was down for an extended period of time *grief*
Linux was fine, which explains why I had no issues. He explained that they responded by doubling the size of their WIN cluster. What exactly that means I don't know.
Anyway... I have had no bad experiences with Mosso... the contrary in fact. Their techies are always there and always responsive. Their systems run lean and fast, etc.
I have nothing to complain about and am happy to recommend them.
Before we start getting all up in arms about the WIN outage, we should first consider Mosso worthy of praise for even hosting WIN at all. Secondly that they do it for the same price as Linux. Thirdly that it's all completely interoperable, etc.
Who else does that? MediaTemple doesn't... the other "grid" mob out there.
What Mosso has is relatively unique, so I think they deserve some credit for that.
Of course, I'd be sore if my platform went down for a day, too... but to be fair to Mosso, they appear to have properly "solved" the issue so it won't happen again.
I haven't seen Mosso NOT learn from their "issues". They fix them, move on, etc.
(No I don't have any interested in Mosso - I'm just genuinely happy with them!)
