Together Boston, the music festival in the United States that Mos Def Yasiin Bey was set to perform at on May 15th, missed one of its headlining acts because Bey wasn’t allowed back into the United States.

He's a freaking hollywood movie star and famous hip hop artist that was even born here in 1973 with a normal-sounding name. Surely he's got some money, too... If Immigration can't let him in, Holy crap, they are f*cked up.

If I showed up at the airport and they said I couldn't enter I'd simply say: "Awesome, so this means you aren't going to tax me anymore?"

Seriously guys, don't you look into anything? A quick google search shows that he was not banned or even denied entrance to the country. He personally stopped the US tour all by himself. His representatives citied "legal" reasons, nothing about him and immigration. He is a US citizen, but he lives in South Africa now.

Speculation is warrants for unpaid child support or possible nonpayment of taxes owed. No one has given a exact reason why he wont come back but it has nothing to do with him not being allowed in.

Passport is not the same as citizenship.

I know. But the lack of one will make it impossible to travel, which he'll eventually have to do if he doesn't have permanent residency somewhere or a 2nd citizenship. Of course, he could always sneak back in to the US via the very porous Mexican border.

It's unconstitutional to deny a U.S. citizen entry back into their own country. Bottom line it would never happen.
