Mininova just died a few days ago, shame as it was one of the easiest to use torrent sites and wasnt full of ads and popups.

Any recomendations for other sites or do i have to pay for shit now?

It comes and goes, though it's a mere shadow of its former self it seems.

I remember back in the day (not too long ago), I downloaded Photoshop CS4 from The Pirate Bay, as well as Need For Speed Most Wanted for the Mac. Both were beautiful and worked flawlessly.

The difficult part about torrenting here on campus is that I have to change my MAC address each morning as to not be put into their blacklist.

Thanks for that, Torrentzap.com torrent downloads - Torrents at best! is actually not bad.

Think someone mentioned usenet above, its great for the speeds but its impossible to know whats good and whats not. Generally with torrents if it has few 1000 seeds its decent.

+1 for usenet. safe and fast (ssl connections). just have to know where and how to look.

plus the text forums can be fun

That's true however I don't have a choice as all ISPs in my area throttle torrent traffic and simply encrypting it doesn't help.
