.me - can it rank?

I have a few really nice exact match .me's that I picked up during the landrush in '08 - never developed properties on them.

What's the word these days on whether they can rank with solid content built out over time?

I never notice any .me's in the serps so wondering if I'd be wasting time & money developing a .me

.me will rank but i still wouldn't waste my time buying them unless you got a catchy brandable domain name...oterhwise .com FTW

It can rank but you have to use high quality content and some really high pr backlinks.

Go with it.
I prefer them over hyphen domain even.
I have my website ranking 1 for a keyword related to Penis Enhancement and its .ME
i have another ranking 1 for a term related to Acne and its again .me
.me works too good.

On an interesting side note I saw a .name ranking for a competitive seasonal term today. I did a double take to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

I've ranked EMD .me's, so yeah you can rank them...

.me ranks, I have only one but it's on page 1 (it's a "brandable" .me going after an unrelated KW btw)

it can rank , but if you choose .com or .me go for the .com without thinking about it too much

Sure it'll rank. But the question you should be asking is, will it rank as easy or easier than .com .net .org.

The answer then unfortunately is no. You can go ahead and grab it if you found a niche you're certain an EMD will kill it in. But just go into it knowing your usual strategy may not work and be prepared to supplement it or change it up a bit.
