I'm curious what process everyone goes through when they are researching a market.

I'm currently trying to figure out how/what to look for when I'm researching different Niche's and want to get a feel on what everyone else is doing.

Just a simple step by step would be great so I can start putting together one that I'm comfortable with that works.

1) Do an overture search for searches for that particular niche and related searches on that keyword.

2) Then do a Google search on the niche you want to pursue, and see what your competition is.

3) Then you have to look at how you are going to drive traffic there whether it is PPC, Blog submittal sites etc. Look up fees if applicable by this I mean how much the traffic will cost you if any to get to your site. This is extremely important if you are looking to do some sort of Arbitrage. You need to analyze will I be add to turn a profit on the traffic that is costing me to get it here.

4) You need to see if content is out there for your site unless you know your niche. It is good to have informed articles at your site for your niche to have followers and unique's coming in and perhaps not to depend so much on arbitrage.

These are just some suggestions I have.

Thanks for the suggestions dxearner and for the site rento.inc.

Are there any key things one should look for to see if a Niche would be worth it? I know over saturation of the Niche is number one but what would you look for in one that has virtually no competition?

Just because something has no competition doesnt mean it is worth pursuing. You need to make sure that there is enough demand for it.

For example, knee hair removal might be an untapped market however theremight not be enough
A) search queries for it but
B) no ad or market support.

Just remember you might get lucky and find a niche but also evaluate them to see if they are un tapped for a reason.

Thanks. I will add those to my list of things to consider. Now it's just a matter of picking which one I want to start with then continue to go down the list.
