normally i would never question someone who cut off their own leg to survive something since its usually one of those last resort solutions. Typically you just assume that they exhausted every other option before coming to that decision, but he called his friend with his cellphone who showed up and started rummaging around and finding tools for him to hack at his leg with and handing them to him? Maybe i misunderstood something but that doesn't sit right with me.
