Time to upgrade my 13" Macbook Pro!!

I know that the new Pro is quite thin too, but other than the retina display, I am not too sure why I shouldn't get the Air.

How about the 11' Air?
At the default resolution, the look and feel of the screen is of a 13 inch Pro.

Currently I work on my 13 Inch Macbook Pro and have a 14 inch ThinkPad 420 for secondary usage. I use my laptop 12-14 hours a day. Not used to a Large screen set up.. Earlier I was on a 12 inch Toshiba Portege :)

I like the 15" too, and my partner uses one, but too big eh :)

Oh no the 11 inch is too damn small, for me at least. Get the pro, its damn thin and performance-wise, its slightly better. Plus, it has double the SSD storage.

Btw. Didn't we have a thread like this earlier?

inb4 someone points out you can get 9 cheap plasticky shitty noisy pc laptops for the same price.

I'd go with the 13" retina. If it wasn't for the fact my late 2011 MBP was still like new, and shows no signs of missing a beat, I'd love one.

HELP HELP! I'm hyperventilating over here, man. My cheap plasticky shitty noisy pc that I bought for $50 used and put linux on isn't allowing me to do anything! Haha just kidding fanboi, my computer fucking rules! Meanwhile my girlfriends mac that she bought for a grand or something has broken it's power chord multiple times, shuts down randomly, constanstly freezes, no customization, shitty bulky spyware proprietary software. IT JUST WERKZ lol plebe.

11" is I guess out then. I will be playing with it a bit at a store though

Between the two 13" laptops, I am also inclined towards the Pro Retina now after I read an article on Ars Technica.

My MBP is 2010, and it is a bit slow. I get the spinning wheel quite often, though not for very long... Never understood why. In fact my older White Macbook (2008) seem quite faster. I even got the hard drive a some other stuff changed under warranty.. Better, but still something that have always bothered me. 15" MBP from the same generation didn't have the problem..

Will also use a 15" for a day or two..

Of course it does. Move along.

And customisation, yeah, that helps my bottom line... I buy a computer to compute, not waste time tweaking it.

Just do something Windows users do all the time. Reinstall the OS.

And if you have Time Machine, do something Windows users can't do natively and is completely alien, and just migrate the old settings, docs and apps onto the new OS on install.

I've got the air and I'm upgrading to the new pro retina next week.
It's more robust and all but the reason I'm really getting it is for the screen. I don't care about games and stuff but the retina seems so much easier on my eyes. For as much time as I spend on it the the decreased eye strain is a big win.

I have both. I use the Air a lot more. If you don't do actual work, the air is perfect for keeping your minions on task while you are at the beach.

Mac OS X is Full Unix.

.... Move along.

Then you continue addressing my post. Not very bright are you?

Of course it helps your bottom line, it's your #1 money making tool is it not? It would be like a professional race car driver who never tuned their vehicle or looked under the hood.

It's called being able to maximize productivity because you're not in a cage that apple set for you. Also not being a shumuck who just paid tons of dollars for a free open source operating system, yeah... you paid for a proprietary version of Linux, lol.

So you'd rather tune your 92' Honda Civic than taking the stock McLaren F1 :stonedsmilie:
