I purchased LyricJam.com as a spur of the moment thing, wanting to make a lyrics site, but my question is: is this a good domain, or would something like "jamlyrics.com" be better?

I've noticed a lot of the larger lyric sites use [word]lyrics.com and not "lyric"

Think it makes a difference?

I also own artistlyrics.net, can't decide which to use though

For SEO purposes Lyrics-Lyrics-Lyrics.com would be better, but that's a hideous domain.

LyricJam.com sounds nice, it's easy to remember, rolls off the tongue, so good domain. You can use both domains, just 301 redirect one to the other. Personally, I like the sound of LyricJam.com better than ArtistLyrics.net, plus it's the .com so that's always helpful.

Think like your surfers, imagine someone heard about your site and all they remember is LyricJam, no problem because people are programmed to add .com. So, if you said to the guy on the street "check out ArtistLyrics.net" and all he remembers is "ArtistLyrics", then most likely he'll input "ArtistLyrics.com" and you just sent your competitor traffic.

Yeah, that seems like the logical thing to do. THanks :)

skimming your post i missed it was a .net myself - of course i'm half blind but people just assume .com as mentioned
