Lost my WP Install

So I tried changing the title of the index file, and then just telling the wordpress it was in the main dir by changing the URI in the general settings.

So.. it didn't work..

How do I get it back?

Did you look in the "lost" folder?

you dont change the title by the filename

You changed index.php to something else? Change it back

Change title in the settings in wp-admin

And no matter how much you messed it up the database is still there. BU the wp-config.

BU the myswl if you know how.

BU the uploads folder

Then start messing around more.

1. Download a Fresh Wordpress Install - Make sure the version is the same as the one already on your server.

2. Unzip and find the index.php file - Replace the one you edited with this new index.php

3. Goto yoursite.com/yourwordpressfolder/wp-admin (replace yourwordpressfolder with the name of the directory you have your install in) and login

4. Goto your general settings and change back your Blog URL to the actual directory listing. For example, if your blog lies in sarah.com/myblog enter that into the second field which reads "Blog URL"

5. Post back here with how it went.
