This is really geeky, but possibly kind of brilliant.

LOST fans are big internet geeks. Last night one of the characters had their "real" name revealed. It was Benjamin Linus. Now... type Benjamin Linus into Google and check out the sponsored result.

I know there are all kinds of sites made by the LOST creators to further the world of the show, but this one looks like a flat-out arbitrage site to me.

Here's what is brilliant about it. This is now posted on LOST fan boards all over the internet and thousands of obsessive LOST fans are clicking through trying to figure out if there are any clues.

This site has got to be earning and I can't think of how you would get much more "niche" that this.

Whether you love or hate the show, I think this is kind of brilliant. Thoughts?

Wow. Thanks for sharing this. It sure gives me a lot of ideas for future arbitrage site topics.

oh well, i started trying it - please don't click on my ad, ok? :small-smiley-026:

I learned a while ago that taking advantage of topical situations is extremely lucrative. You can get traffic in adwords extremely cheap when something new comes up and you have no competition. I have gotten a lot of traffic for various sites and subjects doing that.

I'd like to officially declare my satisfaction with this method. True, I haven't made profits yet, having got only 1 Adsense click on my arb page (if you can call it that!) so far, but it's quite fun getting US traffic for $0.01 per click on Adwords!

The only thing left for me to learn is how best to monetize these types of traffic. Woud you guys suggest putting up CPA ads, if so, what kind?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Well, arbitrage with low traffic keywords and low paying keywords is tricky, plus this kind of traffic stream doesn't last too long. I'd start on a more stable niche where you can get cheap traffic from search engines like 7search and searchfeed and get high CPC from AdSense/YPN.

Site looks like pure MFA crap to me. If he wanted to make more money he should put hot chicks next to the ads and include a big rectangle on the top.
