Building out a high volume application that is running some php files and pulling some information from a MySQL database. Looking at 10-15 reads per second.

I have a feeling this will melt my traditional dedicated server. Looking to have this thing running on a scalable AWS configuration from the get go. Does anyone know a knowledgeable and reliable AWS Architect that can recommend a good set-up as well as get it going?

Thank You!

AWS is expensive for the performance you get. It makes sense if you need to scale a lot, but if you have consistent load, dedis are often a better bet.

10 - 15 reads? PHP? you better be kidding me. Custom C++ running on large cluster what you need for this. Gonna be expensive too.

For 10-15 reads a second a dedicated server should be able to handle this without breaking a sweat.

LOL.

Just checked my dedi:

ø per second: 310

This MySQL server has been running for 108 days

Still have capacity left :smokin:

Obviously the range will vary with query but 10-15 is no biggy.
