Looking for Affiliate Manager Advice

Long time lurker here, looking for some specific advice.
I am currently setting up an affiliate program with a company based in Canada, they ship to Canada and the United States. It is a nutritional supplement and the margins are not conducive to affiliate marketing, meaning the product costs 129.95 and I am able to offer between 20-25$ per sale based on preliminary number crunching.
Because of these margins I am thinking running my own affiliate program using Wp-Affiliate is my best bet, more work but no 7.5% + 1$ per sale from clickbank.
My question is for a grass roots affiliate program run from Canada selling a physical product, what are my best avenues to promote the affiliate program and gather some interest and quality affiliates.
I plan on offering custom banners / ads for select high traffic websites, along with a wide array of graphics for all affiliates to choose from.
This product is one that relies on the quality to really sell it. Unlike most supplement products out there, this one really works and customer health is our number one goal. However making money is a strong second place :D So are there any suggestions for gathering high quality affiliates who are interesting in selling a quality product that really does work. I know 15%ish commissions are not the most enticing but after wholesale price it is all I am able to offer.
PS. program should be launched in around 4-5 weeks with other health products in the works to incorporate into the program, namely a pain cream which will be much more affiliate friendly.

Use something like iDevaffiliate for affiliate tracking.. it's cheap and affordable. Don't depend on wordpress plugins like what CCarter said.

As to where to find affiliates.. from other forums.. website owners promoting similar products.. etc.

Add one more goal to your list. Increasing those margins!
Upsells, data monetization, repeat sales, customer referrals, material costs. Whatever it takes man. If you wouldn't be willing to promote your product as an affiliate, it's likely no one else will either. :(

So if I understand this correctly, cps is $129 and the affiliate payout is only $30?

Not to be negative but that will never work and I'm being honest to the standards in that niche. Most customer costs on entry level nutra products are anywhere from $50-60 and the payouts direct can be $60+ easy. The nutra company can afford this b/c of their upsells, repeat sales, data etc etc.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the input. I think due to some meetings and further discussion I am avoiding the affiliate marketing for this particular product, a pain cream with much better margins will be much more suited. Once again thanks for the advice and I am sure I will be back with more questions at some point.

Above all I would say networking skills. Although “skills” may be the wrong word. When a “super affiliate” knows that you are there to help them make as much money as possible promoting “this” product, they are much more likely to promote “this” product rather than “that” product that doesn’t have someone available to them to help with anything they need.

subtle bookmark here - I too will quite probably be posing questions of a similar nature / natural health product marketing to those of you experienced in this vertical in the coming few weeks - for it is one I've had nothing to do with... and seemingly nothing remotely like tech!
