Do you ever get swayed by long copy or do you just get bored half way down - you know the sites with a 5 mile long sales page or do you find short copy doesnt give you enough information to make you want to buy

I think this probably should go in the content section but anyways... I think a site needs to have enough information that you feel satisfied you know what you're getting into... if you have to email the siteowner with a bunch of questions then I think there's not enough

If you have good navigation in place, having a lot of copy will probably be not as big of a problem if people can get to where they want to go... a huge long scrolling page with the next link at the bottom of the page sucks

just my opinion

Those long sales letters supposedly work very well (haven't tried it myself, but I believe they do), but not on me, and I always just skip towards the end, check the price and close the page.

Most of my articles are 300 words, I think minimum is 200, and some large 1000-word featured articles can improve the authority of your site too

I belive you need to define what your goal is - if it is to sell an ebook, long copy works best, if you are trying to get a short lead, use a short copy

Agreed. This is one of the latest hits among the IM products, it sold VERY WELL and just look at the size of that sales letter:
