List of all US City names

Hi,

For one of my online projects I am looking for a list of all the city/village and area names in the United States and actually also for UK.

I've tried to see if these were available for download but I couldn't find anything.

Does anybody know if these lists are for sale and if they are, where ?

You need excel skillz0rz to separate out all the crap, but it's doable. Just put that data in a text file and import it to excel, then work the magic.

I've got it already broken down into 50 text files each containing the cities located in that state. If you want it send me a PM and I'll zip it and send it over to you. It'll save you a bit of work w/ that URL.

Alright I think I've replied to like 9 PMs. And to make this a bit easier, I'm just going to open this up to everyone. I'm going to try to attach the list to the thread as an attachment.

This is probably a huge mistake cause now all of my cheap keyword lists are probably going to go up in price.

I have a list of every county in the US as well on one of my old laptops....I will see if I can locate that over the weekend.

I had good success on county names, especially in rural areas where people identify themselves as living in a county rather than a city.

Wow that could actually really help me if you think you could hook it up? Wasn't exactly sure where to even start on creating a list like that though I think for some of my more broad keyword lists that that could be really useful.

you can download text and ms access files from here:

zipbase

doesn't look like they have been updated in awhile, but i wouldn't think that city/state info changes all that much.

the db has zip, latitude, longitude, city, state, county and zip class.
