I'm building an app at the moment and I need a rough estimate of life expectancy's. One of the problems is that obviously as you grow older your life expectancy increases (because you haven't died yet). Does anybody know of a table/stats that show life expectancy by age?

Basically I want the user to be able to input their age and then the app will say something like "15% of people your age will be dead by age X, 50% of people your age will be dead by age Z and 85% of people will be dead by age Y".

Would greatly appreciate any help

Actuarial Life Table

2007 life table

And yeah, there are different life tables based on different population samples.
This table doesn't match the life insurance tables I've seen this year. It seems to aim too low. Most women born this year will live until around 84 years old while men should hit 78.

Most states also have their own mortality tables that can be viewed by the public at large. If you have any questions send me a message tencentpiece.

I'd pay money to sponsor an app like that.

Most actuary tables are updated either every 10 or 20 years so thats more than likely the most recent data. The insurance industry is pretty much on top of this so if they are comfortable with it I would be to

This would be incorrect. Public life tables may be updated every ten years, but internally a carrier will make a new one annually.

I am referring to the standard mortality tables that the industry is based on. Of course different carriers may have different experiences based on their market. This is how they determine different rates for different risks (skydiving, drug addicts, police officers ect) but they still start with the basic tables to determine the normal mortality rates and tweak it from there

BTW. I only have 15 years of insurance biz exp and this is pretty much whats taught on day 1
