whats your guys' views on landing pages? Im having trouble because I realize that a boring bland landing page isnt gunna attract anyone. But when a landing page is all flashy and has big letters that blink and all that fun stuff, then it just seems like a big scam to me where someone just wants to sell you your shit.

Nobody can really answer that. "It depends" is about the best anybody can do on that one.

A boring old LP isn't gonna attract anyone who isn't interested in the product but think about if you are actually interested in the content you don't give a damn how boring the page looks like. You are still going to read the content because it is relevant to you.

No answer to this question is correct across all offers. Some niches are filled with less sophisticated users who eat up ugly, flashy pages. Others cater to audiences that just don't go for that.

I don't want to sound mean, but seriously, the only way to get an answer for any particular product is to create (or hire out) a few different designs and start testing. It takes time or money, but it can also be the difference between making a living at this and driving in to a day job every day.

I disagree!

I've had some plain and ugly as fuck pages convert really well and Ive had some well designed ones do jack all.

It sounds like a copout but you have to test it, the right landing page will depend on the product and the market

Make a plain looking page and one with fancy graphics and split test the two. Test Test Test!
