keyword SERP change.

Hi, the story is like this,
2 months ago I promote my keyword thing that lead to change in my SERP +4 places on the first page.
two days ago I started to buid again more links to it.
the site is old site and I didn't made dramatic link building - blog comments, some profiles, some web 2.0 - all total of 200 backlinks maybe...
today my site got back to where it was two months ago. why this could happen and could it indicate somthing?

I think it is normal when there are some changes.. Google is working like this, and also when there is a new website, the position changes every day up and down. Hope until now all is again fine! Right?
