I've been using wordtracker and overture to try to find a solid niche ...problem is I don't know what level of searches/day would be considered a viable niche to go after? I don't want to pick something that is an obvious hot niche right now bc those are way too saturated and I just dont have the budget. Anyone know what a good number or searches/day would be to consider a vertical for going after???

If you know what you're doing, really, you can go after any niche. However,m asking a question like this implies you do not, in fact, know what you're doing at this point in time.
That's ok, we've all got to start somewhere, right?
So, when it comes to picking a niche, look up the things you actually know something about or have an interest in. It'll be a lot easier to create content in whatever form, for something you know about.
I've seen people royally fuck up what should be an easy niche because they used incorrect terms in their PPC ads.
So, pick something you like, and research the sort of terms you search for when looking into that. Then think about the sorts of terms you search for when you're about to buy something related to that niche.
Let's say you're into bikes:
You could optimize and advertise for bikes, but you're up against huge competition.
You could advertise for "buy cheap bikes"... Still huge competition, and you're not really getting the people who are defintiely going to be buying something.
You could advertise for "cheap road race carbon fiber frame", which is the sort of long tail that people are going to enter when they're definitely looking for a specific type of specific part of a bike that they're going to spend a lot of money on... And you know that they're in a buying mood, because people don't get that specific unless they know what they want, and now they're jsut trying to find a place to get it.

Thanks...appreciate the help....so, if I'm in word tracker, and i want to find a smaller niche to go after...what would be the minimum number of searches/day that would qualify it as worthwhile to going after?
