So i have a sick soundsystem. Nice touchscreen up front, nice speakers front and rear(amp'ed). Just added a much needed sub- Alpine Type-R powered by an MRP-500. (500 watts RMS) I am falling in love with music I used to hate such as lil wayne because of the bass. I love Right Above It because the bass is sick. My alternator is only 80 amps so I cant really get it too high, so I have a 120 amp alternator coming in this week, as well as a 2 farad Tsunami capacitor. I will also be upgrading the "Big 3" wiring. Its gunna be even more insane once its done. Maybe ill get some pic's up.

Reason for making this thread- I need some rap! or anything with sick bass. I have a bunch of reggae, and a lot of it has nice bass. It's just not the bass that gives you that feeling hip-hop does. So post some. I know we get a lot of music threads, but I havnt seen anything requesting bass.

btw- I am not a big fan of dub step, but if you have something awesome, post it.

Thanks

Pretty sure that song caused the most damage to my car when I had the W7s in it.

Also

Nas - The N (Digital Bonus Track).

It doesn't seem like it would, but it does.

Whats amping your speakers?

Don't play more than 30 seconds of this song in your car:
Unter Null (crazy manson style industrial chick from Portland)
Destroy Me
http://www.moshable.com/songs/107/78H8UDSATH-1198912411.mp3
The song has such deep and powerful bass it can't even be heard on home speakers or headphones but it'll overpower and probably overheat and throw the safeties on every amp in your car within a minute.

Quick tip,

you don't need a bigger alternator.... just an extra battery or two... and the biggest/thickest cable you can get. You need reserve capacity... music is dynamic... not pulling full amperage all the time.

Back when 150-160Db was hard to achieve I ran 12 18" subs in a monsterous 64 cu ft. 4th order enclosure behind the front seats in an Ford Ecoline Work Van. (Chester the molester van)

I only ran a 80 or 90 Amp alt (stock), and 6 deep cycle batteries... feeding a 4,000 watt RMS system... 3,000k to the subs... The Van in SPL competition would hit 157db avg. and would sound amazing in sound Q as well.

I even had a color TV in the dash... not LCD screen, but a fucking Boob Tube TV! LOL oh and VCR and Nintendo...

Those were the days... That was cutting edge back then... HAHAHAHA...

You guys have it so easy these days... BIG power amps, Subs with ridiculous excursion, pop up touch screens, etc... awesome stuff...

Really... Pay the money and get the power system done right... no ground wires wrapped around shock tower bolts! Do it right! you will get the maximum out of it, and it will last...

BTW, look up Techmaster P.E.B. or Bass Mechanik... Good low bass / not really musical, just hertz... (hurts)

12 18's on 3k watts and you were doing a 157? And amazing SQ ? Safe to guess it wasn't on a new Termlab? Just messing with you, its clear you're old :-p People like Steve Meade are doing high 150's on music with what, 4 15's and 20k watts? I've seen Tommy Mckinney's truck a few years ago and it was beyond ridiculous, but Scott Owen's 180db f350 was silent on the outside. But you're entirely right on how it's so easy now to buy a CRX and be in the 150's for under $1000.

But to the OP, you're on the right track with the big 3 and higher output alt. The cap is useless, if it isn't too late, just return it. Ported or sealed sub? Tuning makes a huge difference. 30hz vs 60hz tuning can mean you're loud to the ear and senses or loud on the meter.

Concerning the alternator- I have a 01 Xterra. Either 70-80 amps. The Quest they made that year was basically an identical alternator, just more powerful(120 amps). I picked one up on ebay used for 50$ shipped and I'll just slide it right in(obviously not that easy).

Ordered some 4 gauge to do the big 3. I'll supplement it with the current wiring. Not good under the hood so this will be a bitch.

Now here's the system-

Headunit- JVC KW-NX7000BT- JVC KW-NX7000BT Navigation receiver at Crutchfield Signature

Front Speakers- Infinity Kappa 6.5's- Infinity 60.9cs 6-1/2" 2-way Kappa Series Component Speakers

Rear Speakers- Alpine Type-R 6x9's- Alpine SPR-69C (spr69c) - 6" x 9" Speakers - Sonic Electronix

Amp'ing the front/rear speakers- Pioneer GM-D9500F - Pioneer GM-D9500F 4-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com

Portable HD- The reason I got the JVC headunit was because it didnt have a max file size on USB media. Most have a 5-8gb max. This one doesnt have a max, but it does take about a minute to index all the songs. Worth it imo. Extremely tiny. Its about the size of my wallet. Right in the glove box. If I want to add music I pull it out and plug it into the computer. - [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002FJZYAA/ref=oss_product"]Amazon.com: 320GB External 2.5-in USB Powered Mini Portable Hard Drive: Electronics[/ame]

Now onto the sub

The box i have. Atrend E12Sv B Box Series 12-Inch Single Vented. I am amazed at how high quality this thing is for the price I paid.- [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013N0UEE/ref=oss_product"]Amazon.com: Atrend E12Sv B Box Series 12-Inch Single Vented Subwoofer Enclosure: Electronics[/ame]

The sub- Alpine SWR-1223D - Alpine SWR-1223D Type-R 12" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield Signature

The amp- Alpine MRP-M500- Alpine MRP-M500 Mono subwoofer amplifier — 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com

The capacitor I will soon have- Tsunami 2 farad digital beast. I notice that when i blast it, the sub doesnt fully hit at times. If that problem isn't fixed with the new alternator, then I will install this. If that problem is gone with the new alternator, then I will return this. Tsunami PP92UM-CAP | Digital 2 Farad Hybrid Power Capacitor

Both amps are ran with 8 gauge wiring. The sub is done with 8 gauge wiring and the front/rear speakers are done with 16 gauge(nice and small for easy installation, but still supplies plenty of power.) Can't wait for the alternator to come in. I am only able to play the music at 18, otherwise the amp for the sub cuts out(the sub is at +8 on the headunit haha). The highest I went before I had the sub was 32 before I made my ears bleed haha.

I am amazed by the system. The music is so crisp/clear no matter how loud it is. I'll be in a friends car for awhile listening to their stock system, then jump in mine and just be blown away by the difference. I had to spend 8 hours deadening all the panels about a month ago. I can rattle the mirrors to the point I can barely see with them, and I wont hear a single rattle from the car.

This is my first system and I havnt seen anyone else, so I have no idea how advanced/simple my setup is. I enjoy it and its good enough for me.

edit: o btw, thanks for all of the suggestions. will take a look

@vgeek- Dont know much about tuning and all that. I just bought the box because it had good reviews from people using the same sub.

Type Rs saved my life. There's nothing like having good bass to keep you awake during a long drive.

Now to really show off your subs, you will need this song:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLdw2CVdRuM]YouTube - Beats 4 My VAN- DJ Billy-E[/ame]

I don't think I ever maxed out those subs. First day, set off 5 car alarms at 25% power.
