I've decided to copy Marzzz and others and share on WF about my network building nonsense in the newbie section as I go. I personally hate reading or hearing about other peoples' life stories when I'm sober (life is hard, no shit), so I'll get right to it:
Paid tools:
Majestic
Ahrefs (check maj's work)
GScraper (support sucks holy shit. but wow so fast)
Scrapebox
Custom scraper (will report on that later)
May dump scraping for dead domains for auctioning. Juries out on that (waiting for a friend that's good at it to get back to me). I'm sticking to building the networks on expiring/expired domains, either way. My niche seriously doesn't have too many options sadly so this is by far the best bet I think. Either way things are moving super fast so even if I made the wrong decision as far as a marketing plan, it'll have been worth it to acquire the knowledge.
What I've done so far:
I've picked up 20 domains in the 20-30 cf/tf range (~30-100 referring c class ip domains) with super clean link profiles. I know those stats aren't as good as what most here go for, but I'm unable to identify domains that are better so for the sake of not wasting time I'm using these. Some of the domains came from the AOL leak that I cleaned up--but totally cannot even come close to going through, feel free--and some came from webalizer and awstats log dumps. Despite scraping G with GSc nearly 24/7 I still haven't found almost anything worthwhile. I'm definitely outgunned by seemingly the entirety of Japan, China, and Russia. And I'm footprint-retarded and have no creativity.
I paid someone on fiverr 5$ to make me an excel doc that basically takes a random value from each column and puts it in sheet 2. Each column is like: registrars, dns, hosts, software, and like 17 other things that Google could ever possibly hope to create a footprint from. Naturally I can just randomize this shit in my head but I want an actual button so someone I delegate it to doesn't have to use their brain (at $3/hr that's probably more likely to hurt me than help me).
5/20 domains are up and fully functioning. 4 of those are getting indexed by G fast. I bought two bad domains for testing and unfortunately the 5th is one of those, and it's not indexing. I'm going to put WMT on it later through a VPN'd gmail and see if I can request to put my mouth on someone's penis over there. :love-smiley-083:
Found out earlier today that one of the domains also had a blogspot to go along with it that I was able to grab and it had more links than the domain. Super!! I also remade the guy's email and got his twitter account (his FB was on something else sadly). The guy died from cancer but not very publicly so I'm still contemplating if I want to email his friends and try to get more done without this backfiring and/or going to hell. Usually I can make expedient decisions but this one isn't easy, thus I'll probably just pass and save time.
I realized archive.org will disallow others from searching for content if you use robots.txt so I bought a couple domains that had almost no links but a ton of kickass content that's not indexed so I could block others from taking it. Threw about 200 totally unique articles from that into a word doc and threw that into evernote for later. Problem is G obviously has that content in it's DB, I just don't know if they'll care if I spread it over a bunch of domains 9 years later lol... all this footprint shit I'm worrying about and I get whacked for some fucking content I ripped. Ehhhhhhhh. Maybe I'll just rewrite it all or pay someone on fiverr to.
Current standing:
+ 5/20 domains up and running, 4 indexed.
+ 200 articles for later use (that may not be usable)
+ 0$
Over the next few days I plan on finishing up the remaining sites and disallowing myself from any domaining (shit is addicting, it's like Diablo 2). I have all the nameservers pointed, just have to setup the hosts, a little software, rip/write content, setup social accounts, and a few other things on my build list. I need to spend at least a few days finding footprints for finding dead web 2.0s as well... I have a laptop sitting here doing jack shit but since I'm clearly not cool enough to come up with footprints for discovering good dead domains, I can at least do it for web 2.0s (I think anyway, however my stupid levels as of late are spiking. Thank god I don't stream this shit - if anyone saw me use excel I'd have to change my name and move).
tl;dr
