Is iStockPhoto to get the domains legitimately the best place to go? Like when you buy them from there you have every right to use it for commercial use, correct?

Well short of using it for logos and other trademarks.

For example you can download and use a vector of a chick on your landing page royalty free as much as you'd like. But you can't use the same vector in your legal trademark or logo (Since others may download the same vector for their own commercial use).

Also if its a photo you can't use the image in a manner that defamatory, or more specifically you may not:

use the Content in a fashion that is considered by iStockphoto (acting reasonably) as or under applicable law is considered pornographic, obscene, immoral, infringing, defamatory or libelous in nature, or that would be reasonably likely to bring any person or property reflected in the Content into disrepute;

Meaning having a couple in a landing page for male enhancement may be questionable under the above agreement.

Also the extended rights normally gives you further ability such as resell/templates or publications over 250,000 copies.

Given that most pictures are between 1 and 5$ and most vectors between 5 and 15$ its a pretty cheap place to go if you need some design elements for a client.

say for instance you wanted to use photos of young women that were revealing but not nude or anything on facebook for advertising. would you be legitimating using it, like you would being doing it legally right?

online dating site

In the past when I used istockphoto, if I recall correctly you can't have the person in the picture directly endorsing the service. For example you couldn't have "Meet Me @..." , or "Lizzy here needs a new friend". ie: you can have her in the ad as long as its not explicitly saying that person endorses the service. Something like "Meet Young Singles @", or "Need a Friend?" is ok, because its not entirely clear that you may be talking bout the person specifically.

ya like if you had the image of a women and the title was "Meet Singles Tonight" not directly linking her to the service, that's fine?

yea if you buy the image from istock you have the rights to use it in your ads. Many agencies use them hardcore.

I wouldn't worry about it so much. If you're purchasing pics from iStock, you're doing better then 99% of affiliates that usually just steal content from Google images.

Only worry about it if you're doing a print campaign or branding for a company.

1.Print out a form giving all inclusive consent to the photographed material
2.Grab a digital camera
3.Go to a university and ask random hot chicks if you can take their photo for an advertisement
4. Pay them 20$, most of them are strapped for cash. Easy Pee Zee
