Is it possible to spoof an IP when submitting a webform?

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to take an IP address held in a MySQL db and use it when submitting a webform so that's the IP address logged by the merchant?

I found this link that talks about modifying header information:

Am I on the right track?

if your collecting leads yourself just talk to the merch about it and get the all-clear on doing that. otherwise you shouldnt be doing this anyways.

and no -- you won't be able to get the ACK back. spoofed IP packets can only go 1 way not both.
