By "search site" I mean a site running a script that pulls search results off yahoo or msn, and then running adsense to monetize. Does google allow you to run adsense on sites such as these?

I believe that is against Google's TOS. You're only allowed to have ads on content pages, and I really don't think those search results would be considered content.

Yeah. Thanks for all the replies. They're alright with it.

"Thanks for your email. Publishers may display third party search services
on the same page as AdSense for search boxes, as long as the third party
search box doesn't mimic the Google search box in any way. Please also
remember that if you host AdSense for search results on your own site,
these results pages should show only the ads served by the AdSense for
search results.

If you'd like to place AdSense ads on your pages, please be sure that the
content of those pages do not violate our policies."

there's nothing about Adsense on pages that is displaying yahoo/msn's search result.

I'm not sure about msn or yahoo search results, but I know its alright to use adsense on your own search results pages. For example if you have a games site and then you allow your visitors to search them games through a search box on your site, then you can have adsense ads on the page that has the results on it that are returned from the search.

Saying this though you have to have content on it so if someone types something in and it brings up no results then that is no content really. So what I have done is still use the adsense ads, but also make sure that if no results are returned then I will make sure that it brings up the most popular games for the site instead that will be shown below a message that says something like "your search has found no results for widgets", listed below are some games that may interest you.
