Is Anybody Promoting Mobile Apps?

I just released two different Apps on the Android Marketplace this week. My Mobile CPA offers are already making some daily cash and I haven't even started advertising the Apps yet. I am seeing the potential to make dough is probably near unlimited with Apps right now. One of my Apps is in the dating niche, and in the first 24 hours, just over 150 people had installed the App. People obviously trust these Apps a lot more than other types of advertising, because my conversion rates are over 30%. Easy money!

I have a question about advertising Apps on a pay-per-install basis however (probably the best way to advertise), and this is actually a pretty general question. Apparently the only way to pay-per-install on the android marketplace is through incentivized advertising. The way it works is that people are paid in some sort of virtual currency for downloading your App. Well, most of the affiliate offers we run don't allow incentives, especially on mobile right now. So, considering all the user is being paid for is to install the App, and not actually to click or signup for anything once they are inside the App, does this count as incentivizing our affiliate offers?

Mobile is the future!

No it doesn't. I've been doing apps for about 8 months so if you want to talk shoot me a PM. When you say your conv rate is 30%, are you counting that from the # of incentivized clicks to your app or what?

mobile is dead....been there for 3 years.....you missed the boat

thats crap i just started lookin into mobile ppc and you can easily get clicks for 0.01-0.05 cents in certain countries for offers that pay more than 2-3 bucks on average...

sure over the last year certain countries have been spammed to death (like SA) but dead.. :eek:not any time soon I think

Do any of those actually convert for you? I've tried many mobile offers, couldn't get people to convert... It's possible that I'm the noob, but I do fine with "regular desktop" offers :)

"You missed the boat" Don't believe it. Example, I thought the "balance bracelets" had been played out, as you recall they had been introduced at $120 ish, wear them on your wrist for balance, etc.....Then in August I saw a guy make $175 k in 10 days with a promo...profit....

I think mobile has legs but I'm a dumbass...

Can someone please geo-ip block all 3rd world countries from posting on this fuckin forum already

I wrote and published a few paid Android apps.

Droid apps do about 2% of the revenues that a similar IPhone app does. That's a 50 to 1 difference in revenues mostly because Google pushes the "free" ads supported Android apps whereas Apple encourages people to go ahead and buy the paid apps.

The downside to Apple is the extreme competition on the IPhone apps - and there are a lot of idiots that swipe your app ideas and offer copies for cheap or free.

If you look at it by the numbers, 1% of the apps make the bulk of revenues. The stats show that 80% of apps have less than 100 downloads TOTAL in their lifespan.

You better have a really good application and be able to promote it lightning fast if you want to make any money.

Well, most of the affiliate offers we run don't allow incentives, especially on mobile right now.

We have over 500 campaigns that allow incentive traffic, increasing every week. A lot of our campaigns would be open to mobile incent traffic as well, will just need to speak to the advertiser. We're in the process of speaking with more mobile App advertisers as well, hopefully we can get that negotiated soon for incentive traffic.

People who download Android apps are really fucking stupid though. There are tons of comments on free apps like "THIS APP WOULD BE GOOD IF YOU REMOVED THE ADS" and "THIS APP HAS ADS IN IT! IT'S A VIRUS!" as if it's all some huge socialist network. I've done a lot better with free iPhone apps than Android apps. With paid I'd say it's been about the same, but Google's payment processor is a lot shittier so you never really know with them.
