This system is slick as hell. I've been following Justo's progress and he's really done a great job with this.

Can all communications be managed through email?

For example, can I get an email notification (as the manager) when new articles are ready for review? Or as a writer, to get notified on update of articles I send in?

I don't think this is a feature yet but is it possible to tie this into Wordpress XML RPC posting? I can enter in credentials, choose post type and push articles to the right site under the right sections?

If the previous is going to be build in, can you also allow for image upload/formatting?

As for pricing, do we get locked in on the $98 yearly price or is it just for the first year?

Yes, notifications also send a corresponding email. If you add a private Writer or authorize an external Writer they get an email notification. When you create a new article assignment and assign it directly to a Writer they are emailed conversely when they submit the finished assignment you get an email that it's ready for review. Also other events like if a Writer is late and you set the assignment to automatically be revoked you'll get notification via email.

This was already on the road map, Berto indicated this was a crucial feature as well. I'll be examining how quickly I can get this in. Like I said above, feedback from early adopters is going to drive decisions on what features get added first so I can maximize the benefits WriteSources delivers for you.

This is just for the first year, the value in time savings and organization that WriteSources brings to the table easily justifies the normal monthly cost. There will be a discount for annual subscriptions but it won't be as good as this so get it while you can ;)
 
Signup form is acting up. Entered all my details / CC info and clicked create account >>> Nothing >>> Did it again multiple times >>> Nothing >>> Jump on WF to tell you about it >>> Opened that tab back up and I was at the login page >>> Logged in without any issues.

Don't see a billing related menu to see if the payment went though but I'm assuming it did. Can you check to make sure it didn't charge me more than once?
 
Pickle, I apologize for any issues during signup. Previous billings haven't had an issue but I'll investigate with Stripe right away and have an email to you within the hour.
 
Feature bump for Writers

My initial feedback on the desire to connect with new writers as opposed to managing an internal writing team was greater than I initially thought so I had to re-arrange some feature priorities by a few days.

Writers, you can now add descriptions of your services as well as provide writing samples. (screenshot sexiness below)

Clients, this will feed into the discoverability functionality that will be pushed out Tuesday evening.

EDIT: the server and hence the site is back up, going through the logs now to figure out what happened but wanted to update here first.

I guess this is as good a time as any to mention I do hourly offsite backups to all WriteSources data... sigh.

At the very least I couldn't let this thread get locked with my last post being a response to a server problem :D

Based on feedback I've been getting so far the writer market for finding new writers has been garnering more interest than the project management capabilities for private writing teams.

So here's the short list for what is in the development pipeline to be released within the next two weeks.

  • Better Writer discoverability
  • METRICS, METRICS, METRICS! See which writers complete assignments on time, feedback on their work, and average star ratings of submitted work.
  • Client feedback, Writers, you'll get insight too as to whom you choose to do business with. My goal is to turn WriteSources.com into the largest most transparent writer/publisher marketplace on the internet!
  • Bulk orders, arrange for multiple separate articles to be managed with one submission, worked by either a single or multiple writers.
  • A couple more improvements I'll be keeping quiet on for now but are in the works ;)
