I have asked for a review elsewhere, but I know how you guys are at WF, so I prepared a little background of where the site is and where I want to go.
I know you guys won't give me a 6 for a 9, in others you'll TELL ME straight up "Dude, keep dreaming" :) But I don't mind, I need the truth and after the truth im asking for some advice in how I take the site to where I want to take it:

My name is Rory Walker.
I am 18 and live in Jamaica, and along with other millions of persons whom would to actually make something online. And when I say make something I mean things other than money.
My blog www.InternetGamers.org started as trial to strike fame online that dream ended quickly :), But I continued and now I'm doing ok, I have 3 sponsors via Text Links Ads, but I want more. As when I say more, I don't mean more sponsors or more money, I mean MORE!
I want to build my name, establish something on the Internet. I people to know me and know InternetGamers.org maybe not for there #1 go to spot for new but for something at least.
I want to go E3, not to see new games but to see the working of the gaming industry and thus.
My aspiration aside, what im asking is advice, guidance anything really.
I want to take IG ( www.InternetGamers.org ) to the next level, but im not sure how to go about it.
Currently, I have okish Alexa : 250,000 and my uniques are pretty bad. Around 80 a day.
I know I have to increase that before I have hopes of making it big. My content now is what I find around other gaming blogs JoyStiq for example. I noticed this and hired a writer to produce something more original.

I am not sure, where else to go, I am not the typical that wants free stuff and complains if he doesn't get it, but I mean in your guys opinion how can I reach to the next level.
I was thinking of approach those Online Gaming sites that you pay for to play, like http://www.gooee.com/ for example, and try and get in free in return for a review.

Appreciate any form of response :)

site is a POS... try again or you'll be stuck in jamaica for life...

i was there for a week once and wanted off...

a weekend vacation is the longest i'd want to stay.

IMO the site isnt that bad but it wont make you very much money in its current state. Just my 2 cents. Look into getting into PPC arbitrage with a new site, the results are instant and you will learn a great deal about ppc which will help you with any other sites you do in the future.

jamaican me crazy

funny. :rasta:

Build build build. Make sites, blogs, do arbitrage like tangem mentioned, push affiliate stuff.

Your idea about contacting gaming sites to do reviews is a good idea. The worse that could happen is they say no, then do your own review anyways and contact them later when you have more traffic.

Also work on your English a little more...

It's kind of driving me up the wall with all those spelling/grammar mistakes..

Also get a design that is awesome and cool, like the gaming industry... A huge cruddy header w/ a white background is boring... And that's one thing a gaming site can't be...

Aside from that, i'm not a dream-crusher, but atm 80 uniques a day is nowhere near your goals... Content is King, Traffic is Supreme...

i wanted to hit the back button the second i got on your site. what are u offering over all the other sites in your niche? if i can't tell within a couple seconds on your site you've lost the average net user.

Heya guys, thanks for all comments, well most of them:
Im still listening to any others whether postive or negative.

@ tangem2: "IMO the site isnt that bad but it wont make you very much money in its current state."

Yea, but right now I am not interested in making money from it. Just grow it into something online. I will continue posting, try to improve quaility of posts and get more traffic

Ok, I sort of want to take a break from created more sites, as I am try taking some advice from John Chow : Big Sites Rules, Small Sites Drool ( for this type of site I think this the best option)
Well,I'll go ahead with plan to contact gaming sites and review them

This is NOT the first time this has been brought out to me I am not sure about getting a new design, I am between improve site/content/traffic and then deal with look. So right now im not sure.
Can you recommend any affordable designers?

@ v1nce: "i wanted to hit the back button the second i got on your site. what are u offering over all the other sites in your niche? if i can't tell within a couple seconds on your site you've lost the average net user."

I am NOT going lie, I saw something like coming. And right now I am not sure what sets me apart from others sites in my niche. But im working on that, and when I decided on what, I be sure to implement as best as a can.

Thanks to all, I am really Calling out to anyone else...any other comments would be appreicated

RedRory, a couple more tips that haven't been posted...

If you can write good reviewes, approach other blogs and offer them to write guest posts, 99% of them will take it and it will allow you to plug your name/blog with each post you write (i.e. traffic).

Don't spend big bucks on design, there are 1000's of themes out there which you can get away with without increasing your cost.

I would also suggest to "spread wider" throw a few more sites up there, big sites are big, but to hit big you need to take more chances. You need one ticket to win the lottery, but if you buy two you doubled your chances of having a winner.

You don't have to know much about design or fork out big $$$ for a fancy site either. There are plenty of good (and free) CMS out there that you could use as a base, and tons of free (or cheap) templates to use with those.

For your goal - which is not primarily money - improving the look and feel of the site is important. You want visitors to feel they have "come to the right place"... not be let down by a simple design.

But like I said, improving the design doesn't have to cost you much time or money at all. And the little it does cost you - well, you will be rewarded for that later.

Hey Jamaican man,
Your site is looking good for a start. Just keep at it.

I have 3 suggestions...

1) it's a generic domain name. If you want to ever get massive, you need to brand it. For now, a generic domain is fine and nothing wrong with them co-existing

2) how about adding the best dammed internet flash games you can find and embed them?

3) HOT TIP! Buy a microphone / video camera and your start your own gaming show. Do reviews, video footage. Create a memorable character. Can you dress up as the stereo typed jamaican? That'd be kinda cool. Do a gaming show every week. A popular gaming my bro listens to is "gaming steve". check it out.

Good luck mate!
