Seems when a lot of people start off they think an arcade/game based site will work well for them. I'm currently playing around with one and really enjoying it. I feel its great for learning.

Anyways, just thought I would post a few of the scripts out there that you can purchase!

I personally use phpArcadeScript. The Admin panel is amazing and it fit every need I wanted.

Wow, when you list em out there are so many different ones :P

GameSiteScript is probably the best - was one of the first - kind of pricy tho.

I heard goods and bads... and the price was a turn-off for me. I'm realllllly enjoying PHPAS though!

I've yet to run into any problems *knocks on wood*

And even if I do... Scott *the owner* is an amazing guy is online a ton.

phparcadescript's support sucks ass, but otherwise its not too bad

Sure you're not talking about PHP Arcade? I've never heard one person complain about PHPAS support. They have a very nice system setup... can sumbit tickets to a help desk and they get back to you ASAP. Or you can just post it on their forums.. which are quite active.

Anyone here making $800+ per day off of their arcades yet?

One day I hope... how bout you? Any Arcade sites out there?

I'd love to start something similar to pogo.com. In my mind I really dont think it would be that hard. Maybe one day when I have the cash to invest.

The guy that runs ianag.com; GameScript's demo arcade; is making $900+ per day from YPN.
Sites like this that are making crazy money from YPN are not going to keep making that much cash for long. They use methods such as categorizing their sites as high paying niches such as medical or legal, and putting ad text next to game thumbnails to encourage lots of accidental clicks.

Basically they're doing things that Adsense would never stand for, and Yahoo won't either once they figure out what's going on and get their act together. There's no way that YPN's advertisers could be making any money from hundreds of thousands of 11-year-olds accidentally clicking on mortgage ads.

Arcade sites can definitely make money, but $900+ per day from a site with gamer traffic and an alexa rank of 33k just ain't going to continue forever. Congratulations to the people who are cashing in on this while it lasts, but I feel very sorry for the people I see buying these sites on forums everywhere based "$900+ per day revenue". The way YPN is right now there's no way in hell I'd pay for a site based on it's YPN income. It's just not sustainable at that level.

My arcade isn't at $900 a day but it does really well in my opinion. I use a customized version of phpAS. And I dont just rely on YPN I also have valueclick and casale on it.

So how much do you think a 'good' arcade site generates per day?

It depends on how much traffic it's getting. Also, I'm not saying that arcade sites using YPN aren't "good," just that the way they're bringing in that amount of revenue isn't sustainable in the long term.
