So? is it allowed to put images next to text ads? I've seen conflicting posts on other forums. Some say it is OK as long as there is a defined border around the ad or a line separating the image from the ad. Some say its a no go.

I have to run it by someone at google.. but do you think this is acceptable for google?

Not sure what I am going to do for yahoo yet.. I have width of 300px to work with, but dont want to show more than two ads stacked in that position on the page.

My take on it is that it's deceiving the visitor, thus creating bad clicks. As such, the advertisers won't like this, making Google and/or Yahoo not like it.

Yahoo has already taken it's stance by coming right out and saying it is not allowed. So far Google is letting to slide as long as there is a bit of space and/or border, but it's still deceitful and will likely be an issue with Google in the future.

Think of it this way. If you were an advertiser, how would you feel if your ads for car insurance were appearing right next to an image of Sonic the Hedgehog making it look like the ad is a link to info on or a game with Sonic? If you don't care about the advertisers, well, then that's your business. But the thing is, Google and Yahoo are now making it their business as well.

I'm not to worried about this; as long as it is ok by the advertisement group I will use it. If it isn't then, I will adapt and use other methods.

Thanks for the comment!

Actually.
You can just ask.
Google is fine with people who just mail em and ask "is this OK"?
They'll answer and you follow directions.
Wouldn't it suck to be banned from adsense?
