Ok, ever since I've seen this offer become popular on here, I've been scratching my head on this one.

Please can someone explain the difference between scammy Get Rich Quick ebooks (bad and unacceptable to promote, apparently), and....

The Google Cash / Google Money System (good to promote)

Why is one ok and not the other? What am I missing?

Yours, perplexed of London.

Nope - not jacked, it's really me. I've been wondering for a while, and curiosity got the better of me. Explain away. Or just hurl some abuse at me, it's all good.

As for the sign-off - have you never heard of "Outraged of Tunbridge Wells"?

As for your actual question (although I have never promoted an offer like google cash system) I'd say it's different because it's not targeting other internet marketers. We the marketers know what works and what doesn't and we don't want to see another marketer get taken under by a bullshit product. The average Joe who's just looking to get rick quick is quickly seperated from his money.

Figures... so where/how do you draw the line between an average joe (who deserves what's coming to them), and another marketer (who doesn't)?

Well another marketer is probably participating on forums like this, you know we don't put up with that scammy e-book shit. The general Joe (and your grandma) is just the average person surfing google, and no interest or knowledge in IM.

It all comes down to buyer intentions.

Ebook - "I want to learn new skills that I can apply to make my way in the world."

Get rich quick schemes - "HURR DURR GIVE MONEE PLZ"

Edit: Although the ebook crowd is usually closer to the second option (see dem dare warriorz for examples).

This sounds like Social Darwinism to me. I can live with that. The original reason I asked was because I'm curious as to how people rationalise that scamming one set of people is ok, but scamming another is not ok.

I know this has been covered with pushing scammy diet products, but the argument then was "this is an internet marketing forum.. hence it's not ok to push scammy IM stuff here. It would be the same way with trying to push Acai in a diet forum". It just struck me as slightly ironic when google cash offers started popping up.

i hate to inform you of this, but you have just triggered the hostile activation of 375 nuclear missile silos from here to Siberia and we are impending launch unless i carefully deconstruct this and utilize the failsafe.

kind sir, seeing as you are British and may be relying implicitly on Continental ethical philosophy, let me introduce you to brash American pragmatism: most marketers on here would sell a rebill to their fucking grandmother.

the scenario in which eBooks are bashed are typically when self-styled internet marketers peddle them to their own class and thus try to capitalize rather incestuously on noobzoa.

outside of this class, feel free to flog, pillage and rebill the masses for as long as your soul can handle it.

I don't think most of us rationalize it. It basically comes down to looking out for yourself at the expense of others.

For me, I rationalize it with massive misanthropy. Other people suck, therefore I don't feel bad about taking their money.

Great answer :D

However, the only problem with this, looking at it from a purely pragmatic angle... by promoting said rebills with gay abandon, are you not contributing to the short termism of the business by massively increasing the general mistrust of the internet by the general herd of the population, and pissing off the FTC so that they regulate more?

Yes and know. There's always been scam offers and products out there, whether on the internet or not. Always new stupid people born. Lather rinse repeat.
