This isn't exactly a hosting question but its the best place to post I think.

There's one particular site of mine which I am working on which, for the most part of the day besides first thing in the morning, I am unable to get to.
I get a "server not found" error. I also can't ping it or reach the mail server.

I've asked several people in different parts of the world to view the site and it works fine for them. My web host also says the site is fine on their end.

In other words, the site isn't showing for me but it is for everyone else.

I tried the ipconfig /flushdns command but this didnt fix the problem.

Has anyone seen this before? What is the resolution?

Incidentally I host other sites on this server on the same IP and they all work fine, its just this one site which doesn't load for me!

Dumb question, but have you tried clearing your cache and reloading? If not, try it. Clear cache, close your browser, open new browser, go to site.

have you tried flushing the dns in your PC/router?

ipconfig /flushdns on windows, directly from the admin panel for the router

I did flushdns in command prompt but i dont see an option in the router admin. I have a netgear router if that helps.

I cleared cache, restarted, restarted modem and router but still to no avail.

I've had this happen before - the local Apache DNS record on the server was corrupted. I don't know the fix though - I have a VPS and the people that run the server fixed it after diagnosing the problem.

netgear here as well, can't find it but resetting the connection should refresh the dns servers (if you have a DHCP connection)
Router Status > Connection Status > Disconnect and then Connect
I am not sure it will work anyway...
