How to Run a Competition on Twitter

Hey Guys

I want to run a competition on Twitter for my gaming site. I plan to give away some MS points for the XBOX marketplace but don't know the best way to go about it.

I have seen companies saying 'enter a competition, just retweet to be in with a chance'.

How do I know all the people that have retweeted my message and can I track multiple layers of people ie. someone RTs then one of their friends RTs and so on?

Just say someone who retweets this will be randomly chosen. There's multiple sites that you can search to see how many times your phrase was rt'd. Have a link to your contest conditions.
 
create a contact form on a website and have them sign up. tell them a random email will be selected.

build a list and give shit away ftw.
 
I have always kept a notepad and pencil nearby and wrote down the twitter account name of every single person who retweeted. If you ever get over 10,000 people retweeting, hire your local mexican to do the work for you. When the competition is over, I don't give out prizes. Karma may be a bitch, but I make sure to wear a buttplug so she can't fuck me back.

Hard work you say? Fuck you.

This is not for marketers scared of losing a couple bucks. To make money breaking into twitter, you need to lose money. Accept it or find a new industry.

The Twitter and Facebook promos are run by Wildfire apps. I think you have to pay them to set up a contest for you. Here is the list for Twitter to give you an idea of what's around:
