WAYS TO PULL THIS OFF CHEAPLY!
Settin up podcasting can be cheap. The only thing you need for an audio podcast is a computer & a microphone. Then you simply find some free software. For instance, Audacity software is free, it is greatt for audio-editing and runs on Mac and Windows, it is a very effective tool and you can't get any better than free! Apple's Garage Band is also pretty sweet for Mac users.
You'll need a mini DV camcorder and software like MovieMaker for Windows, iMovie for Mac or QuickTime Pro 7 for both Mac and Windows.
A few guys and gals out there and making some really awesome podcast that are drawing in thousands upon thousands of subscribers! And it didn't cost them an arm and a leg to do it, the ROI on tactics like this are through the roof!
Of course, the basic tools like camcorders and mic need to be decent quality.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR PODCAST TO iTunes ...
1.Upload your audio (.mp3) or video (.mov) files from a "media-files" folder via the "Upload Your HTML Page" functionality. From this new page, copy the URL of your media file.
2. Set up your Site Blog and open it. Now open "Add Item" and paste your media URL from clipboard into "URL field."
3. Copy your feed address and paste it into the free web service, Feedburner.com, checking "I am a podcaster" box. Follow the instructions and fill out the form "SmartCast" to create iTunes podcasting elements. Copy your new iTunes-friendly feed address and....
4. Open iTunes and go to "Podcasts". At that point, click on "Submit Your Podcast" and paste your new iTunes-friendly feed address. Choose category and submit.
There are so many ways to draw traffic and make direct sales doing this through your affiliate links! There are also new podcasting AD services starting up like Podtrac and more!
