I am facing what appears to be quite a large task.
I set up a blog on www.example.com and it has become quite established and I want to move it to www.example.com/blog - so that I can set up an commerce store on the front end.

My current posts are located www.example.com/post-title.php

Please can anyone let me know how I would move the blog to /blog and also keep the posts in the same location rather than moving them to www.example.com/blog/post-title.php

Am I thinking that this is harder than it actually is or is this going to be a big deal?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1. Go to your wordpress settings and update your Blog and Site URL settings to the new address (www.site.com/blog).
2. Jump over to FTP and move all your wordpress files to the /blog/ directory
3. Log back into wordpress (it will have logged you out) and re-save the permalink settings
4. Load site - should be fine.

That's technically how to do it - as an FYI I think there are ways to move the site without the actual files. It's been a while since I re-located a WP install. Once that is done you may need to deal with broken images. If so just download a search & replace plugin to correct the image path URLs.

Yes you can use search and replace plugin, by the way u will end up in writing(Replacing) queries in DB to do that, because permalinks wont work sometimes, hit me up in skype i can help you.

I have ran into another problem that I didn't foresee. Any help will be immensely appreciated.

All of my previous post URL's have moved to /blog/post-title-here.php
They were previously just /post-title-here.php

How do I redirect all of the old pages to the new ones.

By the way the pages are still showing up under both locations, so this could get classed as duplicate content.

Please help.
