I have a great sounding 3-syllable and very Web 2.0-sounding domain name (like "google", "yahoo" etc.) just sitting around but I don't quite know what to do with it.

Previously, I had a search engine script on there but the search engine that I was scraping from made some change and now its not working anymore. But then again, it wasn't making much money anyways so no real loss.

So my question is, what can I do to monetize my domain? I've thought about setting up an article directory, web directory, youtube search, imageshack clone etc. But I'd like some more input and thoughts. What do you think would be the best and easiest to make money from?

entirely up to you. easy way would be to set-up a pligg site or something, but who knows how you can monetize it. You really just gotta think of a brand and image for it and make it happen. if its as good as you say it is, spend some time actually developing it.

I've already tried pligg, actually. Didn't work out too well. There's already far too many digg/shoutwire/slashdot clones out there.

And the bitches with Xrumer spammed it up pretty darn quickly. :)

scrape from different engines ... works for me ... and you won't have to lose any of your currently indexed pages or traffic if it still exists (assuming you are careful about keeping the urls the same).

I know that having google, yahoo & MSN sounds important but if you are doing this for SERPs (and not visitors) the engines don't care where you get the content from.

PM if you need help, I've got a few of these I've built.
